Construction Process

Construction Process

Thank you for choosing McBride to build your new construction home. We want to answer all of your questions, get you involved in every step of the building process, and let you see firsthand the details that turn your house into a home.

As the premier St. Louis home builder, we want you to be thoroughly satisfied with the final product and to fully understand everything that’s taking place during the home buying and construction process.

    1. Choose Your Dream Home!

Meet with one of our experienced on-site New Home Sales Consultants to select the floor plan and home site that's perfect for you! If you are building from scratch, you will select the structural options of your selected floor plan to meet your family’s needs.

When you find the home you love, it’s time to sign a purchase agreement with your New Home Sales Consultant. Once the purchase agreement is executed and approved, you will have 16 calendar days to make any structural changes.

At time of the contract, you will also need to pay us a deposit on the initial purchase price of your new home. This deposit is credited to you at closing.

      2. Financing

Next, you will want to secure financing through a reputable mortgage company. McBride Homes confidently recommends our preferred lender, HomeKey Mortgage, and we see first-hand how well they treat their customers.

Securing financing will allow you to know your investment level and provide the best option for you and your family.

        3. Experience Our Design Studio

The following appointments will be held at our state-of-the-art Design Studio: the Preview Tour + Design Consultation Appointment, plus your Final Selections Appointment. At these appointments, you will partner with your Design Consultant to personalize your dream home and choose your interior and exterior finishes.  Selections for our market homes are specially pre-chosen so McBride buyers will not need Design Studio appointments.

Once you have finalized and authorized all of your personal selections at the Design Studio, you will have your Release Appointment to release all remaining contingencies and finalize the remaining down payments.

          4. Pre-Construction Meetings

Now that you have completed your Design Studio appointments and released all contingencies on your new home, within the next week you will receive your plot plan. This is a very exciting time during your new home construction process because this drawing shows the size and configuration of your future homesite.

We will then set up a virtual appointment to review your plot plan together and answer any questions you may have. After the review, we will begin the permit ordering process for your new McBride home.

Your next meeting will be a Superintendent Review at your homesite. This is an essential final meeting prior to construction of your new home with your Superintendent. It will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the construction process.
