McBride Homes acquires Benton Homebuilders production homebuilding

McBride Homes, Missouri’s largest home builder, announced it has acquired Benton Homebuilders’ production homebuilding locations.

“Based on our nearly 75 years of building experience, we saw the significant opportunity for continued growth with the acquisition of Benton’s production locations,” said John F. Eilermann Jr., CEO and Chairman of McBride Homes. “This provides us the unique opportunity to gain quick closings in 2020, plus grow our market share in St. Louis.”

According to Builder Magazine’s 2019 Local Leaders list, McBride Home’s has 29.9% market share in St. Louis, one of the highest market shares of any builder in any Top 50 market. They also rank at the top of the St. Louis Business Journal’s largest home builders list with over three times the number of closings than the second largest home builder. 

McBride Homes is set purchase the production homebuilding locations from Benton Homebuilders, while Benton transitions their focus towards luxury rentals and custom homes. 

“We are excited about the future of Benton,” said William Levinson, President of Benton Homebuilders. “We look forward to expanding our luxury rental portfolio and growing our presence in the infill custom home market.” 

Three communities are named as part of the acquisition: Mill Creek in Lake Saint Louis (32 lots), Brookside Manors in O’Fallon (12 lots), and Vista Conn in South County (19 lots). 

“Our strategic focus continues to be creating communities in wonderful locations,” stated Eilermann. “This acquisition provides additional value-based single family homes in the west and south areas of metro St. Louis and expands our portfolio in a strong housing market. Given the tremendous value and top-notch locations, we are very excited with the opportunities ahead.”

The Benton lots are expected to generate roughly $23,000,000 in revenue for McBride Homes. 

McBride Homes closed on the acquisition February 13th, 2020. 

 

McBride Homes, celebrating over 74 years of building, offers new homes in over 35 communities across metro St. Louis. Based in Chesterfield, McBride Homes is the largest homebuilder the state of Missouri and is currently ranked as the 56th largest overall in the country with 783 closings in 2019. According to Builder Magazine’s 2019 Local Leaders list, McBride Home’s has 29.9% market share in St. Louis, one of the highest market shares of any builder in any Top 50 market and over three times more closings than St. Louis’ second largest builder. McBride also continues to be the largest residential land developer in Missouri, with over 4,000 homesites currently under development.
