Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks New Era at Woods Mill Crossing in Town and Country
July 29, 2025
Demolition work is officially complete at the former Woods Mill Center, clearing the way for McBride Homes’ newest development, Woods Mill Crossing—a luxury condominium community in one of St. Louis County’s most prestigious addresses.
Located in the heart of Town and Country, Woods Mill Crossing will feature 112 luxury condominiums, offering elegant design, high-end finishes, and a modern, maintenance-free lifestyle.
“This is truly an exciting milestone for both McBride Homes, Town and Country, and the next chapter of this iconic site,” said Jake Eilermann, CEO of McBride Homes. “It’s been a lot of hard work over the last two years to get to where we are today.”
The project marks the transformation of a long-vacant commercial site into a vibrant, walkable, mixed-use community. The condominiums will average over 1,800 square feet and feature expansive outdoor terraces, secure elevator access, private garage parking, and designer kitchens with large center islands. Every unit offers private outdoor living space, and buyers will work one-on-one with consultants at McBride’s Design Studio to customize luxury finishes throughout.
“I’m excited to welcome this project to Town and Country,” said Mayor Charles H. Rehm, Jr. “I’m very proud of this project—most importantly because of the cooperation between McBride, Planning and Zoning, the Board of Aldermen, but more importantly, with the residents. I very rarely go to any meetings where a citizen says, ‘I’m over-the-moon happy about this project,’ and that happened with this.”
The community will include over 50% green space, with more than 2,000 new plantings, walking trails, and a centerpiece lake with a fountain. A mixed-use plaza at the entrance will feature a premier restaurant with a large outdoor patio and limited retail, creating a lively and accessible gathering space for both residents and visitors.
“All of these exciting elements reflect the best of what happens when developers and communities come together—like here in Town and Country,” said Eilermann. “We’ve built more than just a neighborhood here—we’ve created a true community space that everybody will utilize.”
Woods Mill Crossing is ideally situated near I-64 and Highway 141, offering convenient access to Chesterfield, Clayton, and the broader St. Louis metro area. Nearby amenities include upscale shopping, dining, and top-rated healthcare.
“In the time that I’ve been mayor, I’ve had residents say they don’t want to leave Town and Country, but there is a shortage of independent living facilities—especially those not associated with assisted living or skilled nursing,” added Rehm. “I think this fills a real need for our city. I have a suspicion these units will sell pretty fast.”
“What makes this project special is the true collaboration and spirit in which it was created,” said Eilermann. “It’s been over two years of engagement with residents, city staff, elected officials, and Mayor Rehm that have shaped the site into something we can all be proud of today.”
